Construction supervision fees: scope, complexity and documentation
Construction supervision fees depend on the size and type of structure, the complexity of the works, the quality of the design documentation and the scope of the service. We prepare a quotation for each enquiry after reviewing the project and the investor’s requirements.
When choosing a supervisor, consider professional qualifications, experience, relevant references and working methods. The required support also matters: a basic supervision appointment has a different scope from extended coordination, advice or project management.
Professional responsibilities and the agreed fee
The fee reflects the competence and responsibility required, the expected time commitment and the tasks included in the appointment. We confirm these in a project-specific quotation.

How design documentation affects the cost
Missing details or unresolved design questions can require additional coordination. Such work may fall outside the original supervision scope and needs to be identified and agreed. Before undertaking supervision, we review the available construction design documentation so that the scope and fee can be assessed as accurately as possible.
Cooperation between the investor and supervisor
At the start of the appointment, we agree the expected reporting, site attendance and responsibilities. Changes to the design must be addressed through the responsible designer and the applicable procedures. Additional advisory or coordination services should be clearly defined.
A fee can be structured by time, as an agreed amount or, where appropriate, in relation to the project value. The suitable approach depends on the information available and the agreed scope.
Good documentation, suitable contractors and timely decisions help reduce avoidable coordination work. We can provide both design documentation and supervision, and we also supervise construction based on documentation prepared by other designers.

Questions about supervision fees
Yes. Travel time, access and the frequency of site visits can affect the cost. We organise our work across Slovenia and consider the location when preparing the quotation.
A suitable fee arrangement can be discussed after reviewing the project documentation, the required scope and the expected duration. The quotation should explain what is included and how additional work is handled.
Yes. The level of responsibility, the disciplines involved, the complexity of decisions and any management or coordination duties affect the time and expertise required.
Any appointment must meet the qualification, authorisation and independence requirements applicable to that project. Being the investor does not by itself establish eligibility to act as supervisor.
The duties are governed by the applicable Slovenian construction legislation, project requirements and the agreed appointment. The scope should be reviewed for the particular structure and type of work.
Before construction begins, so that the documentation, responsibilities and reporting can be reviewed in time. We offer both preparation of construction documentation and supervision.
The supervisor must meet the applicable independence requirements. The contractor cannot simply appoint its own employee to provide independent supervision of its own works. Relationships between the participants must be checked before appointments are made.
Planning the supervision budget
Provide the drawings, expected construction programme and the scope you need. We can then explain the proposed services, site attendance, fee structure and treatment of additional work. This makes quotations easier to compare on a like-for-like basis.
